Katniss, Peeta, and I take the train to the Capitol. Effie is getting married. Don’t know why she invited me. Don’t know why I’m going. She looks beautiful. Happy. Not exactly happy to see me, though. I haven’t had nearly enough to drink for this. I think she’s afraid I’ll ruin her wedding. But she ruins it herself. Only Effie would interrupt her own wedding to yell at me. “Haymitch, are you kidding me? He loves me!” She tells everyone. She’s angry that I didn’t ruin the wedding. Only Effie is that crazy. She’s right, though. What’s wrong with me? It ends the way it was always supposed to: me and her, together. Guess now it’s my wedding, too.
